“Have you heard of the ancient Keyblade War?”
Back then, we’d talk about all sorts of things while sitting in front of that game board. That time, there were all sorts of game pieces. It was all a part of our training.
We were still young, then, and together, we devoted ourselves to our studies. But before I knew it, our paths had diverged.
But over the long months and years that followed, our paths would sometimes cross and we’d share a brief exchange. We were still friends. Or at least, I had thought we were.
How many years has it been since the dark pulses from your Keyblade scarred my face?
“That power… Has the darkness taken you, Xehanort?”
“Not your concern.”
And with that, you left. You, with all your curiosity about the worlds, had fallen to the darkness, caught up in your pursuit of the χ-blade and Kingdom Hearts.
There is creation within darkness, to be sure. All worlds are born from darkness, you said. Even so, that does not mean you should endeavour to return all to that which it struggled to escape.
I wonder, were the measures I took enough to safely stop you, Xehanort?
I was always at your side.
