Reading is important because it helps young minds develop cognitively and increases knowledge about all kinds of subjects. It also increases problem solving skills, focus, vocabulary, and writing skills. Reading is how a large majority of the information we learn is received!
Having good literature can mean the difference between having a regular reader and having a reader who only reads when it is mandatory. Interest in literature and genres are essential to create people who are interested in reading. A diverse range of literature also expands knowledge and ideas for the open minded reader.
