Plagiarism is the act of taking another person, group, or organization's work and using it while claiming it as your own without giving proper credit and reference to the original author(s). Plagiarism has also recently been including using artificial intelligence to create work and claiming it as your own. Plagiarism can also include stealing your own work. This means you used a previously created piece of work and submitted it as a newly created one without mentioning the fact. Plagiarism can also take the form of improperly citing work so be sure to properly cite sources to avoid doing so. Another form of plagiarism is paraphrasing a text and only changing a few words here and there.
Should you be found committing plagiarism, that assignment will receive an automatic zero. This is the first offense penalty. Should a second instance of plagiarism occur, you will be sent to the administrator's office with a referral and a call home. Your assignment will also receive an automatic zero. This is the second offense penalty. If a third offense occurs, then your entire class grade will drop to a zero and the possibility of expulsion will be brought up.
