Registration for KMKA Kata competition is now open!
As part of your Shotokan Karate journey a key way of acknowledging the milestones that you achieveĀ
is by completing your gradings and obtaining your next belt.
Members of the KMKA will grade though the Kyu Grades from 9th Kyu down to 1st Kyu. Each grading will cover Kihon (basics) and Kata. As you progress through your gradings you will also have to demonstrate skills in 5, 3, or 1 step, semi free or full kumite. Each student should aim to have attended at least 12 lessons between gradings to ensure they are fully prepared and confident in their own ability.
Each student who progresses their Kyu is awarded a change in belt colour. This is a symbol that signifies your commitment, passion and ability helping you to continue on your Shotokan Journey.
