Foundational Competency (Explore and Challenge Diversity) emerging/developing I am realizing the forms that oppression that exist here in the classrooms of Montana. I want to encourage my colleagues to continue to educate and reflect their own practices.
Leadership Pathway Competency (Coaching and Mentoring) pre-emerging/emerging I am continuing to engage other educators to observe my teaching practices and ask others for peer review so that I can continue reflecting on my own teaching practices.
How did the TLI experience impact your growth as a teacher leader in each of your four chosen competencies?
My TLI experience impacted my growth as a teacher leader by giving me a better understanding of the competencies and how I can better serve my school, my community and my union. I am getting a better idea of what my strengths and weaknesses are as a teacher leader.
What was the most valuable part of the TLI process for you?
The most valuable part of the the TLI process for me was to see a problem during my school year and find a solution to it. The solution was not a perfect solution but I am thinking about ways to find different answers to problems that I may encounter while in the education profession. I will continue to look for opportunities to develop my teacher leader skills.
What are your next steps to continue to grow as a teacher leader?
My next steps to continue to grow as a teacher leader are to continue to build relationships with individuals at the new building that I will be working in this school year. I am going to continue to used structured recess and ask support staff to join. I am going to continue to reflect on the competencies and utilize them through the next school year.

Applied for and was accepted to be a Teacher on Public Lands for the Upper Missouri River Monument. I am developing curriculum to be more inclusive of the Indigenous people of Montana.
