This is a project I completed in LDT 550 Design Studio while earning my master's degree at Penn State University. The requirements for this project included:
Create a video about something interesting
The video must be shot and produced by me
A green screen scene must be included
Transitions between scenes
One or more audio tracks
Graphics
Credit frame
Use a video editing tool to do the final production and publication
The video produced is a demonstration of my ability to create a video with a green screen segment and use of audio in the video.Â
I decided to create a short video about the Quecreek Mine Rescue site. I know the landowner where the rescue took place. I explained what I wanted to do and that I wanted to make a short video about the rescue site itself. He graciously allowed me on the site during non-regular visiting hours so I could shoot the video without anyone else being on the site.
I used a Samsung Galaxy Note 5 to shoot all of the video and pictures needed for the final video. I used VideoPad Video Editor to produce and edit the video.

I also had to complete a desk crit for this project. The following are two pictures that I took of the setup I created in the dining room of our house. The red arrows are pointing to the string I used to hold my phone while recording the introduction.
That is where I shot the video clip for the green screen scene, which is the first scene in the final video that I published to YouTube.
Included in the desk crit is a video of how I produced and shot the video for this project. Click the following link to view the desk crit video.
