During my years as a face-to-face instructor, I used review activities disguised as a game to reinforce learning. PowerPoint is the tool that I had access to and knew how to use efficiently. The first example below, Intrastate NH PACSETI Squares, is an activity that I created using an open source template. The second example, PACSETI Jeopardy, was built from scratch using tools available in PowerPoint (Office 2007 version).
The following are PowerPoint Slide Shows. When you click on each item, you will be prompted to either open the file with Google Slides (not recommended as not all functionality is present) or save it to your computer (recommended).
After the file downloads, open the file. You may use the enter key on your keyboard to advance the slides.
For the PACSETI Squares file, after the character introductions, click on a character to reveal the question. Press the enter key to reveal the answer. Other prompts display as needed to help out with navigation of that game. Also, there are sound effects and background music in this file.
For the Jeopardy file, click on each dollar amount to reveal a question and then click Reveal Question in the lower right corner to reveal the correct response. No background music or sound effects are in this file as Sony Corporation would not grant permission to use of the authentic music and sound effects from the game show.
