Outreach

Our team has done a variety of outreach within our community whether it be doing robot demonstrations at a business or driving our robots in a parade. Below are just a few of the different outreach activities our team has done.

2023

camden elementary school stem night

Our team participated in STEM night at Camden Elementary School on March 28, 2023. Everyone had a great time as our students demonstrated our teams' robots and talked with students!

roadside cleanup

Our team participated in the roadside cleanup sponsored by the Kershaw Clean County Commissioning. We picked up lots of trash and even had our own police escort!

2022

SC FTC Kickoff

Our team participated in the South Carolina FIRST Tech Challenge kickoff on September 10, 2022. We presented an afternoon workshop for "autonomous quickstart" and taught around 20 students how to create Blocks programs to do basic tasks during the autonomous period.

Our team had a great time as Grand Marshal for the parade in Camden on July 2, 2022. Our team got to demonstrate our FTC and FRC robots. Our students carried the parade banner. One of our students got to shoot a real canon to start the parade! See her in action here.

lugoff-elgin middle school stem night

Our students too some of our robots to the STEM night at Lugoff-Elgin Middle School on May 10, 2022 to show off our robots and talk with students about robotics.

kershaw county school board meeting

On April 5, 2022, our team had the opportunity to meet with the Kershaw County School Board and talk about the activities of our team this year. It was great to be able to meet and talk with the Board.

south carolina stem education day at the capital

Our team met with other STEM people at the South Carolina State House on March 21, 2022 to talk about STEM and do demonstrations of our robot. One of our students even got to read a proclamation from our Governor.

Kershaw county council meeting

On March 9, 2022, our team had the opportunity to meet with the Kershaw County Council and talk about the activities of our team this year. On April 5 we were able to visit with them again to talk about our upcoming trip to the World Championships in Houston the week of April 18.  It was great to be able to meet and talk with the Council on both of these occasions.
