about

Our team was started in the 2004-2005 school year by Dr. Holly Sullivan who was a chemistry and physics teacher at Lugoff-Elgin High School. The team has participated in the FIRST Robotics Competition and FIRST Tech Challenge robotics competitions almost every year since that initial year.

The mission of the team is to inspire Kershaw County students in 7th through 12th grades to become leaders through participation in mentor based FIRST® robotics programs that build science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, and communication and leadership abilities.

The team is open to student in the 7th through 12th grade who live or attend school in Kershaw County. The team has included students from many schools such as:

  • Lugoff-Elgin High School

  • Lugoff-Elgin Middle School

  • Camden High School

  • Camden Middle School

  • North Central Middle School
