Company Overview Keltron Controls Aroor, a division of Kerala State Electronics Development Corporation Limited, was established in 1979 with a vision to pioneer the control and automation sector in India. Located in Aroor, Alappuzha District, Kerala, we specialize in providing cutting-edge solutions for thermal power plants, process industries, and defense applications. History and Background Keltron Controls has a rich legacy of over four decades, marked by significant achievements and milestones. Since our inception, we have consistently delivered high-quality products and services, including field instruments, control and instrumentation systems, and mobility assistive devices. Our journey is a testament to our dedication to technological advancement and our unwavering commitment to our clients.

Projects for Physically Disabled: As part of its diversification strategy, Keltron Controls began manufacturing mobility assistive devices like tricycles and wheelchairs in 2002. The division implements projects for the physically disabled under the Kerala Development Plan, in collaboration with various local bodies, including municipalities and corporations. The distributed equipment includes bought-out items like prosthetic and orthotic devices and hearing aids.

Strategic System Group (STSG)

Established in 2002, the Strategic System Group (STSG) focuses on defense applications, particularly for naval systems, with clientele primarily from DRDO labs like NPOL and defense PSUs like BEL.

Present Scenario

Currently, Keltron Controls focuses on the following business areas:

Pneumatic Actuators: Essential for various thermal process plants, particularly boilers in thermal power plants. This specialized product, manufactured by a few companies in India, remains a significant part of Keltron Controls' business, despite a decline in orders due to reduced demand from BHEL for thermal power plants.

Control & Instrumentation Projects: Established in 1979 to address the market for Control and Instrumentation Systems for Thermal Power Generation and Process Plants in India. Since 1993, major orders in this area have declined, with the division's income now primarily derived from the sale of spare electronic modules and annual maintenance contracts for previously executed projects.

Achievements:

Manufactured OWN NOISE ANALYSER, SONAR SIMULATOR, and other systems for DRDO and the Indian Navy.
Awarded the Defence Technology Absorption Award in 2012 for the production of flexible towed arrays for naval systems, meeting quality standards and timely completion.

Capabilities:

Towed array sonar systems, essential for anti-submarine warfare, are trailed behind ships to detect hostile submarines and torpedoes effectively. Keltron Controls has supplied several towed array sonars to NPOL.
The division has invested in an exclusive Sonar Array Production Shop, a facility for the manufacture, integration, testing, up-gradation, refurbishment, and repair of sonar arrays, anticipating regular orders from DRDO and the Indian Navy.
