While Stocksdale's playground isn't as big as some other parks, there is still plenty that makes this park worth a visit if you live in the area. Despite its size, the playground equipment was still really engaging for the kids. Two different types of tall slides were really popular with our crew. Attached to the tall slide structure there are also smaller slides and a set of rock climbing walls. Our really enjoy unstructured climbing, so they spent a lot of time on the rock walls. Besides the main structure there is also a set of swings. There are a couple benches and picnic tables by the playground, and a shelter across a small field. There is also a nice bathroom right next to the playground.
There is a lot of other stuff happening at Stocksdale. Adjacent to the playground, there is a nice paved walking trail that has an extension through the woods. The park also features a large off-leash dog park and a very well maintained disc golf course. The park also has a very large horseshoe area that is the home of the Liberty Horseshoe Club. The most popular attraction at Stocksdale might be the extensive mountain bike trail network. There are a variety of trails available, but be ready to share them with serious adult riders. If you have beginners, you should try a weekday when it's less busy.
