A Brief Introduction-
Kavisha Alagiya - a lifelong learner
Miss. Kavisha Alagiya is a Research Scholar in English Literature and Digital Narratives, currently pursuing a PhD at the Department of English, Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University under the guidance of Prof (Dr) Dilip Barad Sir.
She comes from a rigorous academic background in English Language and Literature, completing an M.A. with distinction and a Gold Medal. Her interest in the changing scenario of digital humanities and hypertext novels has shaped her teaching and research academic approach.
She holds both UGC-NET (2023) and Gujarat SET (2022) qualifications in English.
Her teaching career began as a Lecturer at Sahajanand College of Commerce and Management, teaching communication to MBA students and literature to BA students. She also delivered lecture to PG students as a visiting faculty at Department of English, Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University.
Her academic profile as a University Recognized Assistant Professor began when she joined G. L. Kakadia College of Commerce and Management, where she taught Business Communication to B.Com and BBA students. She then served as Assistant professor at Matushree Ratanben Ramjibhai Monapara Arts College, where she engaged undergraduate students in core areas of English literature and language, delivering lectures, assessing student progress, and mentoring learners in literary studies.
With over 2.5 years of undergraduate teaching experience and active participation in faculty development and digital pedagogy programs, she brings both traditional literary training and contemporary digital literacy into her classroom.
Her literary studies graph began when she graduated with a first-class in Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature. She did her higher secondary schooling in humanities from Gujarat State Board of Education in The K P E S English School. She has completed her schooling at Sardar Patel Educational Institute with English as a first Language from the same town.
Her major area of interest includes Digital Humanities, Corpus Linguistics, Machine Learning, Postmodern Literature, Contemporary Literature and various Literary and Cultural Theories.
She has presented papers at various International and National Conferences and Seminars.

1. Presented a research paper titled “Twitter- Today’s evolving Language Teaching Tool” at the UGC National Seminar on Exploring ELT: Innovative Strategies in Pedagogy organized by the Department of English, Gujarat University held on 28th March 2022.
2. Presented a research paper on “Are we Learning? Re/visiting the ‘Learning’ Process via Technology – Usage, Hindrances and Improvements” in the International Webinar on English Language Teaching and Technology: Practical Strategies for Remote Teaching organized by Department of English, Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University.
3. Presented a survey titled “A Survey on depression, stress and anxiety caused by WhatsApp and Facebook among youngsters” at the National Seminar on “Mental Health and Lifestyle” jointly organized by Department of Psychology and Indian Academy of Health Psychology held on 30th November 2019.
4. Presented a research paper on “The effects of ICT in Learning English Language and Literature” at the 10th National Conference on “A 360-degree View of Language Teaching Materials: Development, Utilization and Evaluation” jointly organized by ELTIS and SIFIL held on 8th February 2019, Pune.
5. Presented a research paper on “Application of Philosophy of Sincerity on the selected concepts of Mahatma Gandhi’s Autobiography” at the International Conference on “Remembering and Re-evaluating Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th Birth Anniversary” jointly organized by the Department of English, K. S. K. V. Kachchh University and CoHaB-IDC, University of Mumbai held on 8-9th February 2019.
