Personal Philosophy

I believe that:

  • Every student can learn and be successful
  • All students are important
  • My priorities and responsibilities should reflect the needs of the students and school
  • Students should be supported in all areas of their life, including their academic, personal/social, and career endeavors
  • Growth and learning are developmental, as should be a comprehensive school counseling program
  • Through advocacy, systemic change, accountability, leadership, and collaboration I can assist in creating positive forward movement within a school and student’s lives
  • All students have the right to:
    • Have access to information about academic and career planning
    • Have access to a school counselor to discuss personal/social concerns
  • All students’ ethnic, cultural, racial, sexual differences, and special needs should be considered in planning and implementing a comprehensive school counseling program
  • Every effort should be made to eliminate education inequity through supporting academic success to all students, especially those affected specifically by this epidemic
