Counseling

Individual Counseling: I will see students 1:1 as needed throughout the year to help support their social, emotional, and academic needs. Typically, my chats with students are brief in nature, school-based and designed to help them through their day at school. Occasionally, needs arise that may take more time, and I will reach out to parents/guardians in this case.

Small Counseling Groups: These are based on the needs of students and I will collect this information directly from students, families, and teachers, and run a variety of small groups based on the needs of our students.

Please note: Confidentiality is discussed in both settings and every step is taken to ensure this. Counseling conversations are confidential between the student and myself unless the student is 1) in danger of hurting themselves, 2) in danger of hurting someone else, or 3) in danger of being hurt by someone else. In addition, I believe that the involvement of parents/guardians is very important to my work with students, and when necessary, I do encourage students to be open and honest with their parents/guardians and/or get their permission to talk openly with those who care about them and want to help.
