This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains how subscription payments, cancellations, and refund requests are handled for Kathakosh.
1. Free App Installation
Kathakosh is free to install.
Users may create an account, write stories, publish stories, and participate in Kathakosh writing competitions without paying any separate entry fee.
Reader subscription may be required only to read locked story parts after the free reading limit, such as story parts after part 5.
2. Subscription Payments
Kathakosh may offer paid reading membership or subscription plans through Google Play Billing.
Subscription payments are processed by Google Play. Kathakosh does not directly collect, process, or store debit card, credit card, UPI, net banking, wallet, CVV, OTP, or other payment details.
Your payment, renewal, cancellation, and refund rights may also be governed by Google Play’s own terms, policies, and billing rules.
3. Subscription Plan
Kathakosh may offer a reading membership plan such as:

The subscription benefits may include access to locked story parts, premium reading access, and other reading-related features shown inside the app.
Actual pricing, duration, renewal terms, offers, taxes, and availability may vary depending on Google Play settings, user location, applicable taxes, and future updates.
4. What Subscription Is For
Kathakosh subscription is for reading access.
Subscription may unlock story parts after the free reading limit, such as part 6 onward.
Subscription is not a contest entry fee. Subscription is not required to write stories. Subscription is not required to participate in Kathakosh writing competitions. Subscription is not required to be judged or to win a prize.
Subscription does not provide extra contest points, extra chances, better ranking, paid boosts, or any advantage in contest judging.
5. Auto-Renewal
If the subscription is set as an auto-renewing subscription through Google Play, it may renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before renewal.
Users are responsible for reviewing the subscription details shown by Google Play before confirming purchase.
6. Cancellation
Users can cancel their Kathakosh subscription through Google Play.
To cancel a subscription:
1. Open the Google Play Store app
2. Tap the profile icon
3. Go to Payments & subscriptions
4. Tap Subscriptions
5. Select the Kathakosh subscription
6. Tap Cancel subscription and follow the instructions
Cancellation stops future renewal. It generally does not automatically refund the current paid billing period.
7. Refunds
Refund requests for subscriptions purchased through Google Play may be handled by Google Play according to Google Play’s refund policies.
Users may request a refund through Google Play where eligible.

Kathakosh may review user issues and, where possible and appropriate, assist or process refund-related actions through Google Play Console according to Google Play tools, applicable laws, and Kathakosh policy.
8. No Direct Bank Refunds
Because subscription payments are processed through Google Play, refunds generally return through the original Google Play payment method and process.
Kathakosh will not normally issue direct cash, UPI, or bank-transfer refunds for Google Play subscription purchases outside Google Play’s billing/refund system.
9. Access After Cancellation
If a user cancels a subscription, access to subscription benefits may continue until the end of the current paid period, unless Google Play or Kathakosh systems revoke access due to refund, payment failure, abuse, fraud, violation of rules, or other valid reasons.
After the subscription expires, locked reading content and premium benefits may no longer be available.
10. Failed, Pending, or Reversed Payments
If a payment is pending, failed, reversed, refunded, charged back, or not successfully verified, Kathakosh may not activate subscription access or may revoke access.
Subscription access depends on active and valid purchase/subscription status verified through Google Play and Kathakosh systems.
11. Duplicate or Accidental Purchase
If a user believes that a subscription was purchased accidentally, duplicated, or charged incorrectly, the user should first check Google Play purchase history and subscription status.

We may ask for limited purchase-related information such as order ID, purchase date, subscription status, and the Gmail account used for Google Play purchase.
Do not send card numbers, CVV, UPI PIN, passwords, or OTPs.
12. Contest Participation and Subscription
Kathakosh writing contests do not require a separate entry fee or paid purchase to participate or win.
Kathakosh subscription is only for reading access and does not increase a participant’s chance of winning any contest.
Contest eligibility, judging, prizes, certificates, and disqualification are governed by the official Contest Rules.
13. Cash Prizes
Kathakosh may offer cash prizes for writing competitions.
Cash prizes are separate from subscription payments. Paying for a subscription does not guarantee a prize, improve ranking, provide extra contest chances, or increase the chance of winning.
Prize distribution may require winner verification, age confirmation, valid bank/payment details, and tax or compliance information where required.
14. Promotional Offers and Discounts
Kathakosh may offer trial periods, discounts, introductory pricing, or promotional offers in the future.
Such offers may have separate rules, eligibility conditions, duration, renewal pricing, and cancellation terms shown through Google Play or inside the app.
15. Changes to This Policy
Kathakosh may update this Refund & Cancellation Policy from time to time. Updated terms will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
Continued use of Kathakosh after changes means you accept the updated policy.
