This Copyright & Takedown Policy explains how Kathakosh handles copyright complaints, plagiarism reports, unauthorized content claims, and takedown requests.
Kathakosh respects the rights of writers, creators, publishers, artists, and copyright owners. Users of Kathakosh must only upload content that they have created themselves or have proper rights and permission to publish.
1. User Responsibility
Users are fully responsible for the stories, story parts, titles, descriptions, cover images, profile images, comments, and other content they upload or publish on Kathakosh.
By uploading or publishing content on Kathakosh, the user confirms that:
- The content is original, or the user has proper permission to publish it.
- The content does not violate copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or any other legal rights.
- The content is not copied from another writer, book, app, website, social media page, publication, or platform without permission.
- The user has the legal right to grant Kathakosh permission to host, display, and distribute the content through the app.
2. Copyright Ownership
Writers retain ownership of their original stories and content.
By publishing content on Kathakosh, writers allow Kathakosh to host, store, display, distribute, format, promote, and make the content available to readers inside the app and related Kathakosh services.
This permission is necessary for operating the Kathakosh platform.
3. Prohibited Content
Users must not upload or publish:
- Copied stories
- Plagiarized content
- Unauthorized translations
- Content copied from books, apps, websites, magazines, social media, or other sources
- Content owned by another writer or publisher
- Images, cover designs, artwork, or profile photos without permission
- Content that violates copyright, trademark, privacy, or legal rights
- Content submitted under a false identity or misleading ownership claim
4. Copyright Complaint / Takedown Request
If you believe that content on Kathakosh violates your copyright or legal rights, you may send a takedown request to:

Please include the following details:
- Your full name
- Your contact email address
- Your phone number, if available
- Description of the copyrighted work
- Link, title, story name, writer name, screenshot, or other details of the allegedly infringing content
- Proof that you own the content or are authorized to act on behalf of the owner
- A statement that you believe the content is being used without permission
- A statement that the information in your complaint is accurate
- Your signature or typed name
Incomplete complaints may take longer to process.
5. Review Process
After receiving a copyright complaint, Kathakosh may:
- Review the complaint
- Contact the complainant for more details
- Contact the user who uploaded the disputed content
- Temporarily hide, restrict, or remove the disputed content
- Ask for proof of ownership or permission
- Restore content if the complaint is invalid or unsupported
- Take action against repeat violators
Kathakosh will try to review complaints fairly, but we may remove or restrict content when there is reasonable concern about copyright infringement, legal risk, or platform-policy violation.
6. Counter-Claim by User
If your content was removed or restricted due to a copyright complaint and you believe the complaint is incorrect, you may contact us at:

Your counter-claim should include:
- Your full name
- Your Kathakosh account details or registered mobile number
- Story title or content details
- Explanation of why the content is original or authorized
- Proof of ownership, drafts, publication history, permission letter, or other supporting material
- A statement that your claim is accurate
Kathakosh may review the counter-claim and decide whether to restore, keep restricted, or permanently remove the content.
7. Plagiarism Reports
Users may report suspected plagiarism even if they are not the copyright owner.
For plagiarism reports, send:
- Original content source, if known
- Kathakosh story title or writer name
- Screenshots or links
- Explanation of similarity
- Any supporting proof
Kathakosh may review plagiarism reports and take appropriate action, especially for competition entries, published stories, or repeated violations.
8. Competition Entries
For Kathakosh writing competitions, originality is mandatory.
If a competition entry is found to be copied, plagiarized, unauthorized, or misleading, Kathakosh may:
- Remove the entry from contest consideration
- Disqualify the writer
- Cancel prize eligibility
- Withdraw certificates or recognition
- Remove the content from the app
- Restrict or suspend the account
This action may be taken before or after result announcement if violation is discovered later.
9. Free Contest Participation and Copyright
Kathakosh writing competitions may be free to participate in, but free participation does not reduce copyright responsibility.
Every contest entry must still be original and must follow copyright, takedown, plagiarism, and platform rules.
10. Repeat Violations
Kathakosh may take stronger action against users who repeatedly violate copyright rules, including:
- Content removal
- Account restriction
- Account suspension
- Disqualification from competitions
- Loss of prize eligibility
- Permanent removal from writer programs or platform features
11. False or Misleading Complaints
Users must not submit false, malicious, or misleading copyright complaints.
If a complaint is found to be false, abusive, fraudulent, or intended to harass another user, Kathakosh may ignore the complaint, restore the disputed content, restrict the complainant, or take other appropriate action.
12. No Legal Advice
Kathakosh cannot provide legal advice or act as a court. Copyright disputes may require legal resolution between the concerned parties.
Kathakosh may take platform-level action based on available information, platform policy, user safety, copyright concerns, and legal risk.
