- Designed and Assembled as a team of three a test setup to mimic the tire pavement interactions for small scale cured rubber samples.
- Two Kollmorgen Motors to drive the rubber sample and the surface disc.
- Able to produce desired slip ratio by relatively changing the velocity commands for the two motors.
- Two load cells to measure applied Normal load and produced Frictional load at 5500 samples per second.
- Normal Loading setup based on Stepper Motor and screw collar mechanism.
- Able to attain normal loads of 150 lbs and upto 100% slip
- There is also a temperature sensor at the aft end of the contact patch to measure the temperature developed at the contact patch.
