I am an educator and an outdoors enthusiast with a passion for helping others. I am a 2023 graduate from Hobart and William Smith Colleges with a double major in Education and Spanish & Hispanic Studies, and a minor in Environmental Studies. I speak English and Spanish and have also completed the TEFL Certificate and the HWS Leads Certificate. I will graduate from the Masters of Arts in Teaching at HWS in 2024 with a dual certification in early childhood general and special education. In my time at HWS, I created lesson plans for culturally responsive literature used in the tutor program. I was also the co-president of the organization Outdoor Recreation Adventure Program (ORAP) for two years.
I set a good example and support those around me.
I listen to those who come to me with questions and concerns.
I see each of those whom I lead as individuals.
I look for ways to improve myself and the things for which I am responsible.
I facilitate growth in others.
I encourage creativity and new ideas.
I take the time to appreciate the little things, showing gratitude and engaging in reciprocity.
I am always accepting, inclusive, and aware of my privilege.
I always leave a place better than I found it.
I believe that education has the power to change the world and every student deserves to be valued. I choose to treat others with kindness and allow the benefit of the doubt. I will create a welcoming environment and seek to grow from my mistakes. I believe that sustainability and environmental protection are priorities. I am excited to continue learning and explore new places.
