Surrounding Lakes Access

There are hundreds of beautiful Lakes around Kamloops perfect fo paddling, fishing, and camping. These are often surprisingly well served, especially the larger and closer lakes such as Paul Lake, Redd Lake, and Montey Lake. It is interesting that they seem to have garnered more attention from the Provincial Parks Service than have our waterways closer to town. This is probably due to the fact that they are a little different than what we have in town and so more value has been placed on them historically. Also, they are very nice places to escape the heat in summer and are seen as more pristine. It also is also probably due in large part to the hard work of local fishing associations who fought for their protection and for public access. Our hats are off to you fisher-people! Now lets fight to get the same services here in everywhere.
