Kamechiyo also makes occasional appearances at local events under the name “Kamechiyo Shoten” (Kamechiyo Shop).
I forgot to mention this earlier, but on June 20, we held “Jiyu Jikan” (Free Time), the first Goto event by “Puuyabuura,” a music project run by Kamechiyo owner Fumi.
The event took place at Nekotama Cafe, a friend’s café where we often work together in the rice fields.
It’s been more than 20 years since I first started performing in front of people, but I’m still terribly nervous when it comes to playing live. Even so, despite it being my first live show in a while, I felt surprisingly relaxed and had an incredibly good time. I was very happy with how it all went.
And one thing that was especially popular that day was the chicken curry from Kamechiyo Shoten.
This time, the musician Tomohiro Higashida is coming back to Goto for another live show, so we’ve been given another chance to set up our little curry stand. We’re very grateful.
Together with Daisuke Ishida, who joined us as a guest at Jiyu Jikan, Puuyabura will also be joining the event this time. We’re very grateful for the opportunity.
Last time we served mini curry portions, but this time we’re planning to serve regular-sized curry with two kinds of achar.
And when is the live show?
Today!
So, I suppose there probably won’t be anyone coming because they happened to see this announcement. 😂
Still, I guess forgetting to announce it until the day of the show is an improvement over forgetting altogether, right?
It’s okay to make progress little by little.
And maybe it’s okay not to make progress at all.
I want to become the kind of person who can say yes to everything, no matter how things turn out.
Kamechiyo, Kamechiyo Shoten, and music—we’ll keep doing all of it at our own slow and easy pace.
Thank you, as always, for being along for the ride.

Our Kamechiyo opening celebration has come to a happy close!
So many people came to celebrate with us — when I went back through my memories and counted everyone up, there were 39 people in total!
It was a much bigger turnout than we had expected, and to be honest, I was quietly freaking out at times. 😅
Looking back, I wish we could have offered better hospitality, and I’m sure there were things we could have prepared more thoroughly in advance.
Still, seeing this house — which had once stood empty — filled with people, conversations, and so many smiles made us incredibly happy.
I’m sure Grandpa Kame and Grandma Chiyo would have been happy to see it, too.
To everyone who came, everyone who sent us messages of support, everyone who has been quietly cheering us on, and even those who simply happened to miss it — thank you so, so much.
Our photographer friend Yuu (@yuu_sony1ove) captured the day for us.
We’ve also created a Gallery page on our website, where you can see photos from the celebration. We hope to keep adding photos from future events and everyday life at Kamechiyo as well.

The Kamechiyo website has quietly gone live, almost without anyone noticing.
Much of what we do happens beneath the surface.
And in the spring garden, daffodils are in bloom.
Kamechiyo.com!
So, with that said, we humbly ask for your support and hope you’ll take a little interest in Kamechiyo.
Please keep an eye on us. 🐢
