A man who left his home behind and set off on the road with his guitar and a small car, and a woman who, for reasons of her own, found herself leaving the shop and home she had been living in.
They met.
They fell in love.
The journey they continued together eventually brought them to Goto, Nagasaki.
In January 2025, they moved to Goto as a married couple.
These days, we live with nine chickens, and spend our time growing vegetables, working in the rice fields, fishing, and enjoying the simple rhythms of island life.
Kamechiyo is a host-occupied guesthouse.
It’s our home, and we live here just like we normally do.
So, let’s have dinner together.
Mornings are busy, so we’ll have breakfast separately.
In other words, Kamechiyo is a little like staying at a friend’s house,
or perhaps going back to your family home.
Just one small difference:
You still have to pay.
Because it’s a guesthouse, after all.
