About this edition: This is the sixth edition of Kalopsia! It consists of 6 different pieces: 2 poetical endeavors and 4 philosophical inquiries. This edition covers everything from Pursuits of Transcendence to Racism to Bags! We hope you enjoy engaging with the work being done by UCSC undergraduates. And as always, we look forward to continuing the work of Kalopsia and making it a lasting aspect of our undergraduate community.

Description
Kalopsia is an undergraduate philosophy journal based in the University of California, Santa Cruz. Dedicated to the seeking of truth, beauty, and their potential disjunction, Kalopsia accepts visual art, poetry, and philosophical papers that demonstrate this pursuit. It is a space for UCSC undergraduates to display their scholarship, learn from their peers, and become a part of a shared academic experience. All topics of inquiry are welcome, and undergraduates from all disciplines are encouraged to submit their work.
How is the journal published?
An online edition of Kalopsia is published quarterly. In addition to these online editions, a print edition that consists of a compilation of the work that is published online is released annually. The first physical copy of Kalopsia, Volume I, was released in Spring of 2018 which consisted of works from the Spring 2017 and Winter 2018 editions of Kalopsia.
Kalopsia Volume I is published!
This volume is the first printed publication of Kalopsia, and it consists of works from the online Spring 2017 and Winter 2018 editions of Kalopsia. Copies of this volume are available for viewing in college offices, Student Media, as well as the philosophy and literature advising offices.
Included in Volume I of Kalopsia was a set of 3 logic proofs. Kalopsia long-sleeve shirts were made available for the first 10 people to successfully complete the proofs and submit them to us, and we still have some available! So, if you are able to complete the logic proofs, you may be able to receive one! Practicing logic is a great way to improve analytical reasoning and argumentative skills. We hope that doing these proofs is constructive, challenging, and rewarding!
