kAKUMA CLIMATE ACTION is a project designed to combat the challenges of drought and improve agricultural conditions in Kakuma Refugee Camp. By planting trees, the initiative aims to restore soil fertility, enhance water retention, and boost crop yields. This effort not only helps to combat climate change but also significantly improves the livelihoods of refugees in the camp, providing them with better food security, sustainable income opportunities, and a more resilient environment for future generations.
“When we plant trees, we plant the seeds of peace and hope.”
Background
We are for change and against climate problems in Kakuma refugee camp.
Impact
“The generation that destroys the environment is not the generation that pays the price. That is the problem.”
― Wangari Maathai
