The Office of the Public Advocate represents the interests of Maine utility consumers. Their attorneys advocate for rates, services, and practices to benefit utility customers in regulatory and court proceedings.
The goal of this project was to implement new branding guidelines into the OPA's existing public materials including: press releases, brochures, newsletters, testimony, and more.
The designs below are some of the public resources the OPA offers to educate Maine ratepayers about their utility bills.
Office of the Public Advocate's Annual Report Cover.
10-page informational guide on community solar subscriptions for ratepayers.
Newsletter infographic informing how to reduce your electric bill in the summer.
Bookmarks to help reduce utility scams.
Namecards for the OPA's monthly Highlights newsletter.
During my time with the Public Advocate, I created a large variety of digital and print items.
Many of the informational graphics were printed, and I was also responsible for many website edits.

While working with the OPA I was able to build skills in publication design, along with email newsletter best practices.
I was also able to meet multiple industry experts in the Public Utilities Commission, Department of Energy Resources, and Efficiency Maine Trust to learn more about design in the governmental sector.
