Swim & Social is a social group based in southern CA. It was founded in 2023 in Manhattan Beach as a way for people to meet eachother "outside of the bar" and create meaningful connections. It started as a Ocean plunge at sunrise every friday, with a group coffee run after.
I went to the second meeting of this & applied to run the Santa Monica Location, which I've continued to direct since December 2023.

Run x Plunge x Sip
Swim and Social was collaborating with Cooldown Run Club and Vale Coffee to put on a running event, this time with the coffee brought to the beach!
A trend at the time with groups like ELA Active Club, & Santa Monica Run Club was to do an ocean dip after their runs. For us to do this, we just needed to add the run! I connected with Lauren Leifeste to pitch the idea to Cooldown. After the collab was approved we connected with Vale Coffee.
Before the Event I directed a Photo & Video shoot for marketing materials. Then each account posted on Instagram, Tik Tok, Strava, Eventbrite and Camber.
Coastal House x Swim & Social
Coastal House is a Santa Monica based clothing brand, founded by Megan Edgemond.
Because our weekly swims are on Friday mornings, we wanted to introduce more weekend events, and decided a Saturday mid day event could help improve both brands' reach.
We used my flyer and images from our evergreen folders to market. We used tools like Partiful, Instagram, Tik Tok, Camber, and Facebook Groups.
At the event, I lead the photography & Video, I used a Sony A6400, Kodak Z710, and an Iphone 16.
At the popup, Megan Sold out of her pieces & hosted a giveaway exclusive to the participants
Plunge & Poppi
Since our drink pop ups with Clevr Blends & Vale, we wanted to collab with another beverage brand. Since we were leaning into later weekend events, coffee wasn't an obvious choice for us.
I contacted one of our members Klarissa Palacios because she had recently became a Poppi ambassador through Home From College.
After getting approved for a Collab & Recieving our product, we started to market. I Designed a Flyer for the Partiful Link & Instagram. We used Partiful, Tik Tok, and Instagram to market the event.
At the event, Me and Klarissa Lead Photography & Video, with my co-director welcoming people, leading the plunge, and helping serve the drinks.
Swim & Saba
Since starting Swim & Social in 2023, we have moved around coffee shops OFTEN. This is why I reached out to Saba Surf Cafe in Mar Vista to collab with us for a post-dip coffee.
I had introduced myself to the manager of the cafe and connected with them VIA email to send the proposal. After both founder's approved the date, discount, and details I started to promote the event.
Marketing: Photoshoot Saba for marketing materials and field research. Designing Flyer for Partiful RSVP. Leveraging 3rd parties such as Eventbrite and Camber. While posting Tik Tok, Instagram & Linkedin.
The event had a sold out RSVP list with a high participation, exposure, & 20% off of the coffee.
Salty Strands
We had collaborated with run clubs, coffee, shops, and fashion brands, but we we're looking for more opportunities in the wellness and beauty spaces.
The founder of Swim and Social had let us know that we were going to be partnering with @got.kook for an event. KOOK is a pre surf/ocean hair mask that protects your hair from salt, sun, and potential bacterias, a perfect product for us to highlight
Creative Direction: I had organized a photoshoot for this event, I invited our local directors and brand founders to model the product for a campaign including static posts, designs, and video. We hosted the ocean plunge event at the beach with a KOOK mask pop up, bagels by @laylabagels and a live DJ.
Cold Plunge & Coffee
We were excited to be hosting our third collab with @shopcoastalhouse because of our past success with them! We invited two other brands from our network to join, @playswimwear and @cafemeggo. This event was strategized to invite participants who can't attend the sunrise friday swims, and who might be in the partnering brands' audiences.
Creative Direction: The founders of Coastal House and Play joined me for a promo shoot a week before our event to capture content at the event location. This was mainly for relatable Tik Tok, and Instagram story content. We also posted through Camber LA.
Hosting the Event: We had 60+ atendees at the event which lasted an hour longer than our past events. This was an amazing way for our communities to grow and connect our audiences.
