OOU 'Nikola Karev' Probishtip

The municipal primary school ‘Nikola Karev’ is a state owned public school in Probishtip which is a small town situated in the northeast in the Republic of N. Macedonia. Our school was opened in 1986 and since then it has been the only school in our country with the best facilities that are necessary for succesful and wholesome teaching and learning processes. It is not a very big school with around 400 students who attend primary school from first to ninth grade – between six and fourteen years old. There are twelve teachers who work with younger students teaching primary subjects andadditional teachers who work with students from the age of eleven to fourteen teaching different subjects that cover our national curicullum such as Macedonian, English, German, Maths, Geography, History, Music, Art, PE and so on. There are also teachers that take care of some students after the end of classes until their parents pick them up later in the day. The school organizes additional classes for gifted students as well as for those who need more assistance in their studying. Students also run the school paper and they are very active in different sport activities and local, regional and state competitions in different subjects. Our students regulary take part in different community activities on different topics. We have also participated in various national and international projects. Our school has an eTwinning School label as well as awarded eTwinning teachers that have participated in multiple projects during years.
