Our online K-12 student programming is created so that you can learn about the Kellogg Biological Station and the Kellogg Bird Sanctuary. Learn about the ecology, natural resources and current scientific research and connect with the scientists and caretakers involved.

Online programs: what to expect

  • Live, online video programs led by KBS outreach educators

  • Aligned with Michigan Science Standards

  • Options for grades Kindergarten through 12th

  • Designed to keep students engaged for:

    • 35-45 minutes for Grades K-5

    • 60 minutes for Grades 6-12

  • Please note that all of these programs are part of a pilot series. We would appreciate your feedback as we work to design additional offerings.

When?

Birds of Prey Interviews: 35 minute sections, between 9:30 -11 am, visit the program page and registration form for specific dates.

Exploring with Scientists: 45-60 minute sections at a time determined by you and the scientist presenter

Program Delivery

  • Zoom, Google Classroom, Web Ex, MS Teams - whatever you are using - we’ll work with you!

  • Don’t have a digital classroom? No problem, we will provide a secure Zoom link. We can host your program either as Zoom Webinar or a Zoom Meeting. Zoom meetings will require parental permission forms because of the use of personal video for interaction.

Fees & Scholarships

Cost: $50 for up to 30 students per date

$125 for multiple classrooms up to 150 students per date

Scholarships available with funds from Kellogg Biological Station's Long-term Ecological Research Program (NSF grant) in support of K-12 Partnership outreach.
