Over the course of three months, students of the Vidya Jyothi School had the unique opportunity to study photography under the guidance of Professor Allan Wilfred and some students of the Accademia SantaGiulia. The lessons were held at Vidya Jyothi School in Mysore, India, creating a rich environment where different cultures came together.
Throughout the course, students explored the history and evolution of photography, camera techniques, composition, lighting, and post-production using Photoshop, Lightroom, and Camera Raw. They also developed personal projects, applied their creativity in posters, collages, and graphic exercises, and learned from the works of great photographers. This experience was not only educational but also a beautiful cultural exchange, offering new perspectives and inspiring artistic growth.
FIRST MONTH
From 17th of July to 11th of August
In just one month of lessons, this photography course guided students through the world of photography. We began with the origins of photography and explored how it evolved over time. The classes explained the mechanics of different cameras and how to use them properly to capture the perfect shot. Students also studied composition, light, and technique to improve their skills. Finally, the course introduced great photographers and their masterpieces, offering inspiration from the legends of the art

SECOND MONTH
From 11th of August to 5th of September
During the second month, the course focused on more advanced techniques and practical experience. Students explored in detail the creative effects achieved with different lenses and practiced shooting in the field to better understand camera functions. They worked on creating photos with various depths of field while starting to develop their personal final project. Lessons also covered the study of light and exposure, mastering the best framing techniques, and preparing for set photography. Each student created a mind map and moodboard to guide their chosen theme and artistic direction.

THIRD MONTH
From 8th of September to 3rd of October
In the final month, students focused on completing the last shots for their personal final projects. The lessons centered on post-production techniques using Camera Raw, Photoshop and Lightroom. They learned how to navigate Photoshop, manage colors from a communication perspective, and enhance their images professionally. Students also explored their creative side by designing posters, collages, business cards, and other graphic materials, completing various exercises to unlock their imagination and artistic expression. This month allowed them to combine technical skills with creativity to bring their projects to life.
