Stanley Holloway

Stanley Holloway was perhaps best known for his comic monologues, especially 'Albert & The Lion' and 'Sam, Sam, Pickup Tha' Musket', and as Arthur P. Doolittle in 'My Fair Lady'.

In this talk I look at his life, and especially three men who were to have a great influence of his life and career, namely:-

  • Leslie Henson

  • Marriott Edgar

  • William Shakespeare

and intersperse it with readings of some of his best loved monologues and comic verse.
