In this talk, I discuss the life and works of Laurie Lee, interspersed with dramatic readings of some of his best known poetry and writings. The talk covers his childhood in the village of Slad as recounted in 'Cider With Rosie'. Then his early years in London and his travels through Spain as recounted in 'As I Walked Out One Midsummer Morning'. Finally, his involvement in the Spanish Civil War as recounted in 'A Moment of War' . It also addresses his love of women, and the various women that featured in his life.Â
