Who is the Justice Team at LUMC?
Who is the Justice Team at LUMC?
We believe in justice for all.
We seek to follow Jesus who taught and modeled love for all, especially the marginalized and the most vulnerable. (Luke 4:18, Matthew 6:10, Matthew 25:35, Luke 10:25-37)
Together we learn, we write letters, we advocate, we take a stand, and we volunteer toward the goal of making God’s “Kindom” a reality on earth.
We draw inspiration, courage, and strength from our faith and from each other.
We ground our work in the Social Principles of the United Methodist Church.
We seek to engage in the work of justice with humility and respect. See these guidelines for engagement in the public arena.
Let's continue the conversation about what it means to be a Christian and what it means to be an American in our world today. (See this link.)
What our founders said about religious freedom and the importance of the separation between church and state. (See this link.)
We meet the last Sunday of the month. New summer time is 11:40 am to 1:00 pm at Littleton United Methodist Church to coordinate our next steps. Everyone is welcome!
