OMG, did you hear about the news!? No, not that -- that's old news now -- I'm talking the "this week" in announcements. Because oh boi, there's been a lot, and team cocoa, as always, has the inside scoop into what's round' the corner! Each of us is tackling one of the five newly-announced projects, and we're reporting back that we now know definitively what to expect!
Let's roll it back a bit. This week kicked-off last Monday when at a shareholders call, Universal's CEO Mark Woodbury let it'd slip that we'd be seeing not one, but two bold new adventures into the Halloween Horror Nights & Universal Fan Fest festivals. First, for Halloween Horror, there's all-new original horror maze (burn in hell, IP!!!) called Arbolidores: Greed's Nature, which sounds -- absolutely stunning! But immediately after sharing that bit of news, next we gotta another, offical slot filled for next year's FanFest... Sinners: A Night to Remember! Yes, that vampire-horror movie is here, I guess?

This of course, was not acceptable to newly-anoited Disney CEO Josh D'Amaro. He himself, having a long history with theme parks and entertainment, recongizied the value of the parks and simply would not allow Mark Woodbury to one-up him. So, he took to Twitter and went on a deranged rant that ended with a seemingly-disconnected annoucnement for: The American Adventure: Last 100 Years, an update / remixing of the American Adventure Show at EPCOT. How exciting -- it reminds me of Test Track's revisions, exploring a new time period while still paying tribute to what has come before. I'm onboard!

He said he was fine. But beneath those cool shades, Mark Woodbury wouldn't so easily step down. Who did Josh D'Amaro think he was? He hadn't even meant to drop the scare maze and house details in the call, it just happened. But then D'Amaro spoke, and the rest of the day's buzz was all about the American Adventure. The battle of Monday was lost, but the war for the week just beginning...
For three days he waited, in silence, until on Thursday morning, Mark Woodbury took to stage, announcing without any context but full and absolute confidence:
"look, we're doing guinea pig plushies now."

Josh was livid. This was unacceptable! Somehow, the American Adventure had been superseeded in news coverage by the sudden, inexplicable, and undoutbedly adorable little guinea pigs. It had spread across the internet and news cycle like wildfire. No, no, no! Something had to be done, or else he would have to admit that Universal had the better week, which was impossible, because he was Josh D'Amaro. Well... there was that one announcement he'd have planned to headline D23... but whatever...
That Friday, D'Amaro announced EPCOT Legacy Lens, a "new interactive game takes place within World Celebration and on the Disney Play App" (per description). What a shock! Everyone had assumed Woodbury had the week locked, but this last-minute announcement narrowly pulled Josh through to top the Guinea Pigs slightly according to some obscure polling data. A last minute comeback, for the win!
