French-born, London-based artist Julie Baum works primarily in pencil, archival ink and gold leaf. Her current practice is built around detailed black linework and a restrained use of gold. Birds and wildlife sit at the centre of her work, through which she explores connection, value, belonging, humour, memory and the quiet presence of living things within the places they inhabit.
