About The Artist
Julie Baum is a French-born artist whose work explores freedom, transformation, devotion and the enduring relationship between humanity and the natural world. Working across oil painting, pencil, archival ink and gold leaf, she creates contemplative works that draw upon symbolism, memory and the quiet poetry of the natural world.
Julie graduated from Central Saint Martins in London in 2010 as a jewellery designer and was recognised by Wallpaper* magazine as one of the UK's Best Art and Design Graduates. Her creative practice has since spanned fine art, jewellery, fashion and object design, with work exhibited and published internationally across Europe, Asia and North America.
After years of working across multiple disciplines, she returned to her first loves: drawing and painting. Her recent collections, Aurea Libertas and Eleutheria, explore themes of connection, resilience, becoming and liberation through carefully observed natural forms and delicate gold leaf interventions.

Working primarily in pencil, archival ink, oil paint and gold leaf, she combines precise observation with subtle symbolism. The use of gold introduces a sense of reverence, elevating ordinary moments and inviting reflection on what we value, protect and remember.
Whether depicting a bird in flight, a quiet exchange between two creatures, or the unfolding of a flower, she isinterested in creating works that offer both intimacy and wonder. Each piece becomes an invitation to pause, to look closely, and to reconnect with the beauty and resilience that exist within the natural world and ourselves.
