Away from interests that directly complement fields in education, I am also a sport fanatic. My family is from Manchester, and we have grown up watching and playing soccer. I have been so invested in the sport that I have coached and played a combined excess of 20 seasons. I love the tactical side of the game, and the precision in skill and fitness to execute certain plays. We do not talk about these little details in school, but I like to bring up the stories of athletes, and conditions of their success relative to our content area.
I have peers who describe me as a "soccer geek." This is because I am fascinated with the dynamics and force relationships with the ways a person kicks, tackles or how a goalie makes a save. I believe that professional athletes are physics geniuses in the way that they can manipulate the ball, all while following the laws of the universe. If there was anyone who could design an entire course around the sport, it would be me, but I would never get any sleep because I would be far too imbued with the content.
