Seventh Grade Work

In the 7th Grade, the curriculum focuses on a deeper understanding of the Elements of Art through instruction in sculpture, painting, drawing, and mixed media skills. I view these Elements as the building blocks of any complete Visual Arts program, and they provide an opportunity for helping students build connections while developing their own personal visual language and sending meaningful messages in the artwork.

This plaster casted hand project is a student favorite, a lesson that engages student voice and personal choice in their work that leads to big personal investment and even bigger problem solving.
