I am a 21st century educator that encourages students to explore and find their own voice through the visual language of art. Noticing and naming the things my students are doing well is something I excel at. My belief is that teaching self-confidence and a growth mindset in art making is just as important as the technical skill.
Presenting opportunities where young artists can share their work provides an avenue for them to praise and build each other up as a community. I've seen first hand the way art can build a bridge for students who see themselves as outsiders, enrich the education of academically successful students, and inspire stronger connections with our families.
