The image shown above reflects the creation of rules within emailing. I loved this assignment because I went and sorted my personal email right after completing said assignment. Rule creation in emailing allows for easy organization and a coherent mailbox.
In this unit the entire class was able to set up our notebook, analyze the syllabus, get registered within SIMnet, learn more about our professor Ms. Noone, organize our email, create rules in emailing, and lastly studied our first set of terms within information systems.
This is not my photo and is a screenshot taken from Ms. Noones website. (Prof. Noones CSIT 101 ePortfolio Project - Unit 0)
These key terms and concepts were able to paint a picture of the entirety of the unit.
From these activities performed, I learned to utilize the technology I've been using for my entire life in an extremely more efficient way. I learned that email had more depth to its nature, depth such as rule creation, email organization, how to utilize BCC and CC to prevent unnecessary steps within the process of emailing and lastly how to send an email without the recipients seeing other recipients within said email. These processes simplify emailing and bring a nuance to emailing most wouldn't care to learn but should! We also learned a bit about user interface and its importance in information systems. Whether it's a website, social media page, video games, or even your streaming services (Netflix, Hulu, HBO, etc), user interface acts a roadmap allowing users to keep track of their exact location within any application. While it may not seem important, thinking of personal situations such as navigating a bloated strategy game menu, finding a new TV series worth watching, and even navigating your bank account is all connected to a carefully crafted user interface. Important factors within user interface include hamburgers, waffles, and breadcrumb trails. These three - what seem to be miniscule - factors add up to allow an easy navigating experience when using any internet application. Imagine traversing the Amazon forest without a mapping of the entire jungle. (It's happened before; they got lost! See below!)
Tips to know: Stay ahead within the unit, take and finish your notes first, and watch Ms. Noone's videos like the John Kirakou videos, in 1.5 speed! These few tips helped me save time; understand the message Ms. Noone is trying to get across, study with efficiency, and understand the concepts with ease.
Below is the stated John Kirakou video. The newest generation of kids may need to learn in this manner. (I am joking)
