Cellular Engineering Lab (CELab) conducts protein engineering and cell engineering research utilizing various technologies including high-throughput screening and CRISPR-based genome editing. We study protein characteristics across multiple scales, ranging from single proteins to complex protein systems, using various model systems from E. coli to animal cells.
We aim to build a new atlas for life sciences by developing large-scale protein characterization technologies. As protein function prediction and optimization through bioinformatics and artificial intelligence are rapidly advancing, we aim to develop large-scale experimental technologies that can experimentally verify and support these predictions, ultimately establishing core technologies necessary for bioprocess and drug development.
