Useful Watercolour and Art Website links.

  • Handprint This is the best watercolour website you are likely to find on the internet. Bruce MacEvoy delves into every aspect of watercolour painting, equipment and materials like a forensic scientist. His encyclopaedic knowledge is quite amazing. If you can't find it here, it doesn't exist.

  • Jacksons Art My nearest art supplies shop. Fantastic range of art equipment. Well worth a visit to their showroom if you are in the area. Don't bother going by car though, parking is near impossible.

  • Rosemary and Co. Brushes A British brush company which I have used and found to provide excellent quality brushes and service. Be careful though, if you are weak willed like me, you'll spend a small fortune looking for that elusive magical brush made from rare oriental mouse whiskers.

  • J.M.W. Turner: Sketchbooks, Drawings and Watercolours David Blayney Brown surveys Turner’s stylistic and technical development over his long career, examining his production of sketchbooks, independent and intermediate colour studies, and finished watercolours.

  • Royal Watercolour Society. The RWS is an artist-led society made up of an elected Membership who are amongst the finest practitioners in contemporary water-based painting.

  • Royal Academy The RA is run by the Royal Academicians, artists and architects elected by their peers in recognition of their exceptional work. We’re home to Britain’s longest established art school, the RA Schools. Every year since 1768 we’ve held an annual Summer Exhibition, the largest open-submission art exhibition in the world. We present our collection of art and architecture in free displays throughout our home on Piccadilly. And we put on world-class exhibitions of art from around the world, welcoming hundreds of thousands of people to our galleries each year.

  • Brampton Picture Framing. A useful online resource for all things framing.
