Robert Utting

Robert Henry Utting was a British jockey who spent much of his career riding successfully in Germany, where he was champion jockey in 1900 with 40 winners and dead-heated with E. Martin the following year with 40 winners apiece.

He later became a trainer and twice won the German Derby, with Dionys in 1931 and Alchimist in 1933.

Robert Utting died on January 10, 1952, aged 77, in Royal Hants County Hospital in Winchester, leaving £352 2s 8d.
