Plan Your Transfer (What do I need to know)
Transfer Your Courses (What classes from the school I am planning to enroll in now (sending institution) will transfer over to the future school I am intending to transfer to (receiving institution))
You enroll in college and receive college credit from that school, then proceed to transfer to a different school to continue and complete your education.
This typically is considered a transfer if you are going from CC (community college) to a 4-year college to complete a bachelor degree program. (most common situation)
It could also be switching schools while still pursuing the same degree level, but doing that has it's up and down sides.
Going from a Bachelor Degree to a Master Degree program does NOT count as a transfer and has it's own process.
Complete some of your general education/major requirements and still graduate on time post-transfer (ideal for MOST majors- Check major requirements in your 4-year choices first)
If financial aid doesn't turn out in your favor for your top colleges, CC tends to be cheaper to attend
Build your College Undergraduate GPA (Your GPA resets when starting college; if you start strong and keep grades up, you have a higher likelihood of transferring into one of your top schools later)
CCs in general tend to take in almost any HS graduate to learn and get an education (usually there is not a GPA requirement for HS students to be accepted)
