First Generation Students

The Center For Student Success (CFSS) at UNC runs programs focused on first-year transitions, transfer student support, and first-generation student support. This data is from a survey completed by Summer Bridge program attendees. In my GAship, I helped develop surveys and other modes of data collection to help CFSS understand how to serve our students best.

This involves collecting data on student needs, as well as creating program-specific scales and metrics. The survey helped us change the budget for programming, allowing us to spend more money on food for events- this research revealed the amount of food insecurity many UNC students face.
