My time in the Honors Program is something that I will look back on fondly as it allowed me to grow as a person. The various courses have allowed me to think more critically about information that I have learned and analyze it in the context that is relevant. The various discussions in the courses have also allowed me to communicate my ideas more logically and effectively than I previously did. I have more of an understanding of what community is and where I stand in it. I have felt more connected to the communities that I have identified with during Honors than I have ever felt before. The diverse perspectives that have been shown throughout the various courses have also given me the chance to look at something through the point of view of someone else. Having multiple viewpoints when discussing a topic relevant to today’s world has greatly impacted my own opinions and the way that I understand topics.
The Honors Program is something that I am genuinely happy to have been a member of. Every class had interesting coursework that allowed me to research topics and create my own opinions and interpretations of information. Creating this portfolio has allowed me to reminisce over my four years in the Honors Program and how far I have come. When I first joined the Honors Program in my freshman year, I would not have considered myself an active learner. Participating in the Honors courses have pushed me to take control over my education and actively enjoy the information that was being taught. The information that I gained through the Honors Program will stay with me through my school and professional careers.
