Passionate about permaculture, nature, and up-cycling, I embrace sustainable living and creative self-expression through the art of crafting wearable and useable items.
I love making things. In my dreams, I would run away to an English farmstead a few centuries ago (minus the food insecurity, general insecurity, and lack of basic medical care) and spend my summers gathering materials, spinning, weaving, and writing. Living in the modern world, I've looked around me to see what could be done in the suburban lifestyle I find myself living in. There is no need for winter wear or blankets so I've had to adapt my skills to focus on upcycling the materials at hand. When I lived in Haiti, I was involved with PeaceCycle and SOIL, both grassroots organizations looking to improve their immediate environment. They helped focus my love of gardening and crafting on detritus. I'm excited to improve my little balcony and home with hand crafted, upcycled items.
