The AASL Standards Framework emphasizes the shared work of learners, school librarians, and school libraries. The library connects the classroom, home, and the wider world, helping students apply what they learn across subjects to life beyond the classroom. In this role, the school librarian serves as an instructional leader who ensures equitable access to information, technology, and thoughtfully curated resources. The AASL standards provide essential guidance for building an effective library program that supports inquiry, critical thinking, and meaningful student learning.
The artifacts included here demonstrate how I use the AASL Standards to design and support library experiences that connect academic content to real-world contexts and promote meaningful learning for all students. This section of my portfolio includes evidence showing how I have met each of the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) Standards through my coursework at UNCG.Â
