An eLearning module designed and developed for instructional designers to learn the 4Ws of collecting information prior to starting a project.
Roles: eLearning Development, Visual Design
Tools: Articulate Storyline 360, Adobe Premier Pro, Canva
Client: Instructional Design Company
Overview
Acknowledging the challenges encountered by instructional designers in addressing training requests, the Instructional Design Company formulated a vision for a comprehensive course on the "4Ws." This lesson underscored the significance of these core elements when navigating training requests, aiming not just to clarify common approaches but to instill a systematic and highly effective methodology.
In order to address the client's objectives, I created an interactive, eLearning course in Articulate Storyline 360, engaging the learners and culminating in a seamless and immersive learning experience. The lesson underscored the pivotal role of the Four Ws - What, When, Where, and Why - as the foundational pillars for effective training design.
Process
The client provided a storyboard and script that delved into the process of collecting specific information, painting a nuanced picture of the challenges posed by vague training requests. The storyboard provided step-by-step instructions for each slide within the course. In order to complete their requests, I added visual elements to slides, edited provided audio, and added animations to progress the learner through the course. In addition to the elements on the slides, the course was created to be 508 compliant with closed captions and accessibility features. The culmination of this collaborative effort yielded an engaging and insightful lesson that was able to be seamlessly integrated into The Instructional Design Company's training curriculum.
