I have come to learn, and appreciate that teaching is not just about passing along information. I believe in promoting self-discovery through inquiry, which can often lead to the student developing a much deeper understanding of the topic. By integrating what the student already knows, they are reflecting on their experiences while building a deeper understanding of the content. With this in mind I value the importance of thinking, so that students can grow to be problem solvers.

I believe students learn best when they can relate the material they are learning in school, to their own life experiences. I will strive to provide a quality education, services and support, in order to enhance the learning experience. I will instruct using material that is of interest to my students, as a way to create an engaging environment.  Each student deserves individualized support, so that they can meet their personal and educational goals. Differentiated instruction is crucial to helping our students meet their targets. 

It is my mission to create a nurturing environment, that motivates and challenges all students to reach their maximum potential. In doing so, I hope to create an environment that prompts social and emotional growth. By including morning meetings and daily check ins into our routine, students will learn that my classroom is a safe and positive learning environment.
