As from my first year until my third year at UNIMAS, I tried my best to participate in some of the faculty as well as residential college activities :
In 2019, for our faculty open day, we were all involved in conducting many activities. Myself and others were appointed to take care of the Strategic Communication booth. So at that time, we conducted a few games to make other students take part in the games. For that, we had made two posters, but they were not that professional. After learning this course, I found that we had made some mistakes, like using all block letters. But it's like a lesson, something I learnt and will take note of it, if in future I have to do it. For the open day also, I had an opportunity to be interviewed by media like Bernama I guess, I was so nervous and I didn't know what to talk about also. Finally, I just told what came to my mind at that time. The Faculty of Language and Communication lobby and TMM have carried many memorable moments in my life since my first year of university. Unfortunately, we were not able to make more memories there due to the pandemic. I really miss the lobby, TMM and Sarawak.
The International Intercultural Expenditure in 2019 was one of the best and unforgettable experiences that I had taking part in activities at UNIMAS. It was a wonderful memories sharing almost more than one week with students from various countries like Thailand, Indonesia, Laos, Brunei, Yemen, Libya and many more. I had so many wonderful memories throughout the journey of IIEC 2019. I have made more friends in different countries who are still in touch with me, where we do wish each other during our birthdays and any special days. Furthermore, we had wonderful time spent with our lecturers as well as our dean. We also had an opportunity where our dean also travelled with us on the bus during our Sarawak Cultural Village Trip. My most favorite memory was the night at the museum. We spent and slept a whole night at the butterfly museum and the next day exploring all the museums in Kuching. Although the last few weeks were tiring, we really had fun and created more memories.
The farewell dinner was our seniors from Linguistic. The event was something very special and I had learned a lot of things which are related to organizing an event with the guidance of Mr. Jaya. As I was the Secretary of the event, I had learnt more about handling documents, writing documents and also on how to handle people. Even though some of the committee members were from Linguistic, they welcomed Strategic Communication Juniors with warm hearts and helped us a lot. The event was so lively and entertaining. It was an opportunity to see our Dean singing songs and all that. Furthermore, the students' performance was graceful and fascinating, especially the dance by Lua & Gayathiri. They just had practice and prepared for it two or three days before that, but their outcome was fabulous. It was definitely a wonderful and memorable dinner.
UNIMAS Ultra 8 to 8 was a running marathon from night 8 till morning 8. We were one of those volunteers. I was under the First Aid team. Literally, we were more excited than the runners. We were there till the events started and finished. Basically, some of us even worked more over time even though our slots were finished that time. It was really interesting and nice being volunteers helping others, especially being in the First Aid team. I was able to help some of them who had issues after and while completing the run. Next, the activity that I participated outside the faculty was BRC WEEK 2019 under my residential college. The BRC WEEK 2019 event was happening for almost one month. Myself and I were one of the SK Sahsiah where we had to sell any food items and collect money to donate to a children's home. First we had an idea of making churros and that idea failed. Then we decided to make and sell mushroom soup and garlic bread. After the event, I got to know how to make mushroom soup and garlic bread. Then Holi Mannequin Challenge UNIMAS for Confest 2018. It was also one of the fun filled activities playing with color powders. It helped me more to build up a strong relationship with my classmates as well as with my seniors.
