At first, I had no idea about this course when I applied at UPU as my second option when I failed at the first attempt. I just applied since the name was fancy and I wanted to study in Sabah or Sarawak as I like to explore new people and especially the natural beauty of Sabah and Sarawak. Finally, I got an offer from UNIMAS. At that moment, I was so happy and worried that my parents would not allow me to study far away from them, but somehow they agreed, since they knew I wanted to go out of my hometown. After almost one year, I was well-adopted at UNIMAS and as well as a Strategic Communication student. But unfortunately, it never lasts long due to the pandemic.

During my first year, as Strategic Communication, I had no idea what the course was actually about since it was very new as we were the pioneers for the course. As days passed by, I had a rough idea of it. Actually, I always believed in destiny at first when I wanted to do this course just for the sake of completing my Bachelor's degree, but in the middle of doing this course it developed my interest in entering the field of corporate or any government organizations. Maybe this could be the reason for my first attempt at UPU to fail. Courses like Public Speaking have really boosted the confidence of speaking up to a big crowd of people. It seems after becoming a student of Strategic Communication, I had molded myself even better in the way I present myself as well as communicating with others. My friends and family members had told me that I had changed a lot in my aspects, like being more bold.

I am a person who is not so expressive and it takes time to get along with others, since I would observe and analyze first before mingling with others, so it took me around a year to get set with people in Sarawak and my classmates. For now, my wish is to complete my bachelor's and get a proper job so that I can continue my master's and PHD. I always wanted to work in a government organization, especially in the Ministry of Foreign affairs' so that I could be able to work under embassies. The courses I took in Strategic Communication like Principles and Practice of Strategic Communication, Communication Law and Policy, Risk and Crisis Communication could be very helpful.

As per my parents who want to be in the education field, I would be rather become lecturer compare to a teacher. As I always loves to work with younger adults. One of the things that I look up is the experienced lectures I had throughout my year of studies. I wonder how they are so experienced and skillful in their area of expertise. If I were able to become a lecturer in the future, they would be my role models.
